An exercise mat squeezed between a coffee table and a trailing cable does not make an inviting setup. Before choosing an activity, check the space it will require.
Move loose objects out of the way, make sure the floor is suitable and leave enough clearance for the movements you intend to do. Keep doors, walkways and access routes unobstructed. Pets and small children may need their own safe space while you are occupied.
If you are following instruction on a screen, place it where you can see it without repeatedly twisting or walking across the room. Use a qualified instructor and an activity appropriate to your circumstances rather than improvising from an image.
The setup can remain temporary. A clear area that takes a moment to arrange is often more realistic than dedicating a whole room to equipment. Put things away afterward in a way that makes the next setup straightforward. A usable corner is more valuable than an impressive room you rarely enter.
