A backup plan is only useful if you can actually do it. “Go to the gym” may not help when the gym is across town, the roads are poor and you have never been there before.
Choose an indoor option in advance that suits your circumstances. That might be comfortable movement around the home, a familiar instructor-led session or a visit to an accessible indoor venue when travel is safe. Check opening hours and access rather than assuming.
Do not try to recreate an outdoor walk by pacing around obstacles or using unsuitable stairs. Clear space and appropriate instruction matter more than matching the original plan exactly.
Sometimes the sensible alternative is rest. Severe weather is a reason to change the day, not a challenge to demonstrate determination. Keep the outdoor idea for a better opportunity and choose something that works with the conditions you have.
