It is easy to finish a pleasant walk with a vague promise to do it again. The detail that made it good may be much more specific: the quieter entrance, the company, the light or the fact that you were not rushing.
Name that detail while it is fresh. If it is repeatable, build it into the next plan. If it was seasonal or accidental, appreciate it without expecting every visit to reproduce the same moment.
This also helps separate the activity from the surrounding arrangements. Perhaps you enjoy the class but dislike the journey at rush hour. A different session could preserve the useful part while removing the difficult one.
A routine becomes personal through these observations. You are not simply repeating a category called walking or cycling. You are finding the particular places, people and circumstances that make it worth returning, and giving those details a little more room.
