It is tempting to pass the visitor center on the way to the part you came to see. Yet a brief stop can answer questions that a route downloaded weeks ago cannot.
Ask about closures, current surface conditions and the route features relevant to your group. Staff may also know which toilets are open, where maintenance is happening or whether a quieter entrance would suit your plan.
Bring specific questions. “Is the path beyond the bridge stepped?” is easier to answer than “Is it nice?” If access details matter, explain what information you need without assuming a general difficulty label covers it.
Read posted notices even if the building is closed. Then compare the information with your plan and change the route if necessary. The visit is not a formality before the real outing. It is a chance to make the outing fit the place as it is today.
